what's happening currently: Ministry in Puebla

We are now settled in Puebla, one of the largest cities in Mexico. We are part of a 12 adult and 9 children member team of missionaries – with room for more. There is also a Mexican house church that meets in our community and is led by a Mexican national. Our strategy is to see these house churches reproduce themselves as we provide mentoring and encouragement.

As we continue to study and learn language, we are also getting to know our community in various ways. Ken gives away coffee around the area in the name of Jesus and provides Bibles to those who are receptive to receiving. We believe that the Bible remains our most effect instrument in sharing the Gospel. Diana teaches an English class on Tuesday evenings. Of course Christian literature is always on hand to broadcast the message and recently we have been selecting a “Verse of the Day” that is printed and given to others.

Our heart is to emphasize prayer in our ministry. It comes from the belief that we are helpless unless God breaks through to us and others. Prayer acknowledges our need and His supremacy. Because of a heart for prayer, our hope is to spend a significant amount of time praying privately, with individuals, in groups, and corporately. Currently we have opportunity to pray with Mexican leadership, missionary friends and go on prayer walks around our community.

Ultimately we are here to seek the Lord and to be used as His instrument in the ways of His leading and choosing. He is the focus of our attention and affections. Therefore we are expecting Him to do things among us that are impossible in our weaknesses. It's good to be in a position to live by faith and trust.
